FDB Dose Cumulative Check Service
FDB Dose Cumulative Check Service (CDC Service) can be used to help identify when the administration of a drug, in addition to previous administrations of the same ingredient, may result in a cumulative dose outside the normal range. It will warn end users when a possible unsafe drug administration is about to occur, and will provide a suggestion of when it would be safe to next administer the prospective dose. The CDC Service will consider the maximum number of doses in a period as well as the quantity of an ingredient being administered, including combination products such as co-codamol. Therefore a Cumulative Dose Check should be made for all administrations.
The service utilises FHIR® v4.0.1 standards as inputs and outputs via the CDS Hooks protocol.
